Law of obligations

The law of obligations in the Greek civil code regulates the rights and duties
arising between individuals which are referred to as obligations. The term does not
only refer to financial obligations but it also entails deeds and omissions. The legal
obligations may arise from contracts (sales, donations, leases, loans, companies,
etc.) but also from the law itself (civil torts, unjust enrichment).
This area of law includes, but is not limited to:
 Civil lawsuits for any kind of claims from the breach of contractual
obligations.
 Lease agreements and cases related to the breach of contractual obligations
from lease (evictions etc).
 Claims for compensation due to car accidents.
 Claims for torts (compensatory damages, emotional distress).
 Actions for relief due to breach of transactions (negotiations to conclude a
contract) and unjust enrichment.

 Rights provided by the law in case of breach of contractual obligations (e.g.
withdrawal from sale or project contract, etc.).
 Preliminary measures before the court to secure claims.
 Actions for relief of creditors defraud.
